• information design/data visualization
• expressive typography
• image, graphic composition

“what is it that makes you human as a designer?”
You will decide for yourself what you want to share with your audience (peers, clients, educators passerby)

The poster should fulfill the following parameters
• Stick to template size of 8in x 12in
• Incorporate modular structure in some manner to depict 6 sections
• Use 2 typefaces (one for display/expressive and one for body copy)
(Typography used within graphic elements such as timelines etc is separate is at your own discretion)
• No more than 5 images to be used
• Use of glyphs, icons, and graphic encouraged
• Color and texture to be used as content (as opposed to decoration!)
• Body copy (if incorporated) to not exceed 200 words
PT.2 Assignment:
Design a box that represents an abstracted form of your bio journey/timeline
The box will be a visual representation of your bio journey
You have the license to interpret and manipulate the box through material and texture and move beyond mere surface print parameters
You have been provided with an InDD template for the flat box (4in x 4in when built) along with a physical box template
The box should fulfill the following parameters
• Stick to the template size
• Use typographic expression, images, color, texture, and graphics in any format
• The box should show some elements of interactivity through crafting and materials
• The box can be closed or openable. Either way it should reflect meaningful objectives
The project will be evaluated on the following criteria
• How much have you explored beyond surface print
• How do the images and type move across planes
• Your effort in exploring dimensionality across the surface, plane, corners, and depth
