London HerStory Book

London HerStory is a coffee table book I designed in my London Graphic Design class at Lesley University. This book was inspired by what I learned about the Women of the Black Panthers movement in London during this class. I chose to dive deeper into learning about these amazing women in London, the work they did to help people facing racially unjust situations in London. Not only did they work to help Black people in Britain but they formed an organization to help Asian’s that were facing horrendous racism as well. I wanted to design something that would honor these powerful women and show their power beauty. I was inspired by the Kate Spade book I have called SHE, I tried to envision a book like that, that celebrates these women & all their work. A book that could beautifully sit on a coffee table in a home where anyone could pick it up and discover “HerStory”— learn & marvel at the beauty of these women. Something that would spark the interest to research and learn even more about the women that led a revolution.
